Mac or Linux as Host for Virtualization?

I’m using Virtual Box (free) on the Mac and it works pretty well. It also runs on Linux but I haven’t tried that.

Actually Windows VMs work pretty well in my experience.

They have the added benefit of being able to be thrown away if (when) the machine gets infected or dorked up.
